NovemberContract with OWD has been cancelled. A new contractor will be appointed before end of 2019.

DecemberSaudi shipping and logistics company Bahri has signed a 20-year agreement valued at SR760m ($203m) with client. The agreement involves establishing three floating desalination stations and the transfer of the desalinated water to onshore storage tanks. Each station will have a capacity of 50,000 cubic metres a-day giving a combined capacity of 150,000 cubic metres a-day. The project will be operational for 20 years, starting from the date of commercial operation, which is expected to be in the fourth quarter of 2020.
