Saudi Arabia’s Tatweer Buildings Company (TBC) has received bids for the public-private partnership (PPP) contract to develop 60 schools in Jeddah and Mecca. The companies prequalified to bid are: Australia’s Macquarie, France’s Bouygues Construction, and local companies Alfanar, Al-Rajhi Holding, Masic, Ajyad Knowledge Company, Al-Yamama Company, El-Seif, and ABG Investments. The selected bidder will design, build, finance, maintain and transfer the schools to Saudi Arabia’s Education Ministry at the end of the contract period.
Client has opened five commercial bids for the contract to build, finance, operate and transfer 60 schools. The following firms submitted a commercial offer for the contract:

Al-Balagha
Al-Rajhi Holding
AlFanar
Masic (Mohammed al-Subeaei & Sons Investment Company)
The selected bidder will design, build, finance, maintain and transfer the schools to Saudi Arabia’s Education Ministry at the end of the contract period.
Clarification meetings are under way with firms that submitted a bid for the scheme.
